A Maltese is a small breed of white dog belonging to the toy group and poodle.
The Maltese does not shed and is covered from head to foot with a mantle of long, silky, white hair. Their hair is compared to carpet.
An ancient breed long associated with the island of Malta, it has retained its distinct appearance for millennia. They are very lovable and often get along well with other dogs.

I was watching The National Dog Show presented by Purina today afternoon and I really fell in love with the non-sporting and toy category dogs.
I really adored the Bichon Frise and the only other dog I may like more would be the Poodle.
I like classy and elegant dogs, but smaller size and less noise level is a definite plus!
Though I must say the dogs are gorgeous, well groomed and kept proper at the dog show… so maybe it’s misleading?!

I’m not even a dog person (mostly because my bad childhood) but I’m trying to get over my fears…
